Turkish and Bulgarian tourism executives want ease in obtaining visas!
Special invitation from Pamporova to the Turkish tourism executives!
Bulgaria, who wants to see Turkey’s success in the tourism sector as a role model, brought public and private sector representatives from both countries together at the famous ski resort Pamporovo. After the meetings, the goal in short term has been “Improvement of Bulgaria’s tourism potential based on Turkey’s experience in the field of tourism and increase of tourism volume between the two countries by providing visa ease for tourists who come from Turkey.”
Pamporovo, one of the three biggest ski resorts of Bulgaria who will participate in the EMITT Tourism Exhibition which is one of the five biggest tourism exhibitions in the world, has hosted tourism executives from Turkey and Bulgaria. Bulgarian executives who want support from Turkey in order to increase the tourism volume of Bulgaria came together with executives from Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition – EMITT, Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED) and Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TYD). The meetings also saw the attendance of Sofia Culture and Tourism Counselor Cemal Tekkanat.
Following the EMITT Tourism exhibition committee meeting, committee Smolyan Governor Nedyalko Slavov came together with Smolyan Mayor Nikolay Melemov and Cepelare Mayor Todor Bozukov and shared his experiences in tourism. In the meeting, the committees decided to make a more effective cooperation.
ITE Turkey Tourism & Travel & Fashion Group Director Hacer Aydın
had the following to say:
“Bulgaria, one of the gateways of our country to Europe, has recently begun to pick the fruits of its increasing tourism attack. With the modernization of the transportation network between Pamporovo, Bulgaria and Greece, it has become a holiday destination that can be reached in a very short time from both countries. Pamporovo also has the position of being the only point in Europe where both summer and winter tourism can be done thanks to its geographic location.” Aydın: “East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition – EMITT, which we will organize for the 20th time in 2016, has become a global platform that the leading tourism professionals of the world come together with its participant and visitor numbers that increase every passing year. With the cooperation agreement we signed with Aegean Communication SA from Greece a short while ago, all tourism associations and professionals of Greece who is going through hard times will be exclusively hosted in the exhibition for four years. With Bansko and Pamporovo being separately present in the exhibition after the cooperation with Greece and the country attendance of Bulgaria will increase the tourism volume in the region.”
Türkiye Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED) CEO Osman Ayık
had the following to say:
“One of the important ways for Bulgaria to publicize its ever-growing tourism potential on an international circle passes through its attendance to the biggest tourism exhibitions of the world. They made the right decision in attending the East Mediterranean Tourism and Travel Exhibition – EMITT, which will happen for the 20th time in 2016. When we came together with Smolyan Mayor Nikolay Melemov, I talked to him about the importance and future benefits of this occasion. Not only Pamporovo, but all tourism associations on a country basis in Bulgaria should be in attendance. This attendance should have huge contributions in a short time.”
Turkish Tourism Investors Association Board Member Prof. Dr. İbrahim Birkan
had the following to say:
“With its natural beauties and geographic location that can see tourism in all four seasons, Bulgaria shows an increase in its tourist number in every passing year; however, it cannot reach its full potential with yearly 750,000 tourists. Pamporovo decided to join EMITT Tourism Exhibition, which is one of the five biggest tourism exhibitions in the world, in 2016 and with this it is not only going to host tourists from countries in the region, but it is going to host many tourists from all over the world and therefore will be a contender in becoming a popular holiday destination. Birkan: “In order for the tourism volume between Turkey and Bulgaria to increase, public and private sector representatives should immediately take action. Every passing year, Turkish tourists go to Bulgaria; especially for winter tourism. The providing of ease in visas can bring 4 or 5 times more tourists from Turkey.”
EMITT tourism exhibition, having the experience and global cooperations of the tourism and travel exhibitions from all over the world such as MITT Russia, UITT Ukraine, AITF Azerbaijan, KITF Kazakhstan and IITT India organised within the structure of ITE Group PLC. on its back, has become the biggest tourism and travel exhibition of Turkey and the region.
The 19th EMITT tourism exhibition held in January of 2015 has hosted a total of 142.100 visitors with the attendance of 71 countries and 4.550 establishments, foundations and towns. The EMITT tourism exhibition, which will be held in January of 2016, will put congress tourism, winter and outdoor sports tourism and health tourism on the agenda in its 20th year. With the cooperation and promotion work it has done all around the world, the target is for the exhibition to be attended by 80 countries.
East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition – EMITT, which will be organised between the 28th and 31st of January, will be organised under the corporate sponsorship of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Airlines, with the support of KOSGEB and in the business cooperation of Turkish Hotels Federation (TÜROFED) and Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TYD).
