Hatice Gökçe Başkaya

Head of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Foreign Relations and Tourism

Hatice Gökçe BAŞKAYA, born in Izmir in 1981, graduated from Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema at Ege University, Faculty of Communication in 2004, and then received her Master’s Degree from Department of Women Studies at Ege University, Institute of Social Sciences.

Gökçe BAŞKAYA, who started to work as the Project Supervisor at Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Cultural and Social Services Department in 2006, served as “Communication and Strategic Planning Specialist” in various projects financed by European Union and United Nations.

She successfully completed the “Training Program on Local Democracy and Social Sustainability with a Gender Perspective”, provided by Swedish International Center for Local Democracy between May-June 2014.
Between 2014-2019, she served as the Director of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center, and various Occupational Factory Branches, contributing in the creation of “Izmir Model” in occupational training.

In 2019, she started working as the Head of External Relations and Tourism Department. Gökçe Başkaya, who is an active member of Izmir Tourism and Promotion Foundation, is fluent in English.
