Belgrade, or the ‘White City’, is one of Europe’s most happening cities. With vibrant and diverse offerings, it’s a place open to everyone.

Ahead of EMITT 2019, we caught up with Jelena Stankovic, Public Relations Manager at the Belgrade Tourist Board, to find out more about this enticing destination.

Jelena, what brings you back to EMITT for 2019?

The continuously increasing interest of Turkish travelers brings us back to EMITT this year and we are looking forward to promoting Belgrade’s tourism opportunities with all new elements and sectors.

Which key source markets are you focusing on attracting?

Tourism in Belgrade is constantly growing. In the first 10 months of 2018, we had an increase of 13% in international arrivals and 14% in overnight stays.

Turkish travelers are our no.1 source market in terms of arrivals and overnight stays. This is followed by tourists from China, then Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Greece, Romania and Montenegro.

What tourism products are you offering for 2019?

City breaks in Belgrade is our main product, improved with many new attractions, tourist programmes and tours each year.

What differentiates Belgrade from other destinations?

Belgrade offers value for money, an exciting local experience, fantastic gastronomy, along with a high-quality city break offer. This is what attracts most people to Belgrade. Also it is important to highlight that our capital is a ‘rising star’ among European city break destinations due to its history, culture, nightlife but most of all being a ‘new destination to discover’.

What can we expect from the Belgrade stand at EMITT 2019?

We were happy that our stand was voted the most professional business stand at EMITT 2018. As in previous years, Belgrade’s tourism companies will exhibit together with the Belgrade Tourist Board. We will be able to provide more information very soon.
