Experience a wild, adrenaline-fueled, breath-taking, captivating, endless, bustling getaway in South Africa.’ So says South African Tourism’s website homepage, and with its diverse landscapes, extraordinary wildlife, and culture and lifestyle opportunities, the country could be just the place for an exciting holiday.

Ahead of South African Tourism’s return to EMITT 2018, we caught up with Sadiq Dindar, Marketing and Promotions Manager for the Middle East, to find out more about what’s on offer for tourists looking for something different in 2018.
Sadiq, what brings South African Tourism back to EMITT in 2018 and what are you looking to promote

South African Tourism will be returning to EMITT 2018 as Turkey is an important emerging market for us, which we’re now focusing more of our marketing activities on. It has been included in our portfolio of new countries placed under Middle East markets. South African Tourism feels that EMITT is the perfect platform for meeting buyers from Turkey and the Middle East.
What tourism products are you offering for 2018
We have a range of products including hotels, experiences, trade partners and tour operators. The products that we’ll be showcasing at EMITT will be in line with South African Tourism’s policy of bringing in new trade partners into our growing markets.
We’ll be offering Turkish and Middle Eastern tourists great experiences for culture, safaris, and active adventures. Provinces that we’ll be showcasing will include Free State, Gauteng, and Western Cape Province. We’ll also have tour operators sharing a wide range of itineraries catering to the needs of every sector from different markets.
What are the key geographical markets you are focusing on?
We are focusing on buyers from Turkey and the Middle East but would be pleased to meet buyers from other markets.
What differentiates South Africa from other destinations?
South Africa has a diverse range of offerings for travellers. Accommodation ranges from luxury game lodges and 5-star hotels to smaller B&Bs, country houses, camping and self-catering establishments.
We’ve got so many experiences on offer that are great value for money; from adventure to family travel. The country is also very accommodating to Muslim travellers; we have a number of Halal restaurants and mosques to cater to their needs, particularly in Cape Town.
What type of companies will be exhibiting with you in the national pavilion?
We’ll have a range of companies on offer from tour operators and hotels to those offering experiences (safari, culture, scenic beauty, and action adventure).
