Hear EMITT 2019 From Exhibitors: HotelRunner

One of the leading tourism and travel exhibitions in the world, EMITT continues to offer new business and partnership opportunities to the sector in the region. This year’s edition brought together 1,201 local and international exhibitors at TUYAP in İstanbul, Turkey. 53,513 visitors from 85 countries were there to build new partnerships, see the innovations and trends in the sector and find new destinations to travel or to work with.

We spoke to Rıza Kaynak, Director of Partner Success at HotelRunner, a leading company in the digital transformation of tourism sector about their business and participating at EMITT 2019.
  • Could you tell us about HotelRunner?
HotelRunner, a 100% local company, was founded in 2010 in Turkey to start the digital transformation in the tourism sector. We offer many products in the name of digital transformation. To mention a few; we offer channel management service to increase bookings, reservation module service, website services and services to increase integration in meta-search platforms. Additionally, we have call center management service that was launched in 2018, secure payment integrations for call centers, payment platform integrations, front block programs to increase operational strength and PMS programs.
  • Why did you decide to exhibit at EMITT?
EMITT is the biggest tourism exhibition in Turkey. This is a great opportunity to meet hotels and existing and potential customers. We are happy to welcome them with a big stand and talk to them about the latest innovations at HotelRunner.

  • Who do you want to meet in terms of visitors and your target markets?  
HotelRunner was founded in Turkey. Even though it is our main market, we serve in 193 countries and work with over 36,000 establishments. So, HotelRunner started in the local and became a global company. As HotelRunner, we are now targeting the rest of the world.
  • In what way do you think EMITT is benefiting your company?
It is great to be able to meet hotels and agencies here. We think EMITT is an efficient platform to build more business partnerships and strengthen relationships, and therefore we exhibit every year.
  • Were you able to sign new contracts or build new partnerships at the exhibition?
Yes, we were. In the first two days, we signed over 50 contracts with hotels and there are more than three times more leads that we’ll be following up on after the exhibition. Also, there are an important number of partnerships being considered and finalized in the agency and tech sides.
  • Are you happy with the numbers of local and international visitors at EMITT 2019?
Yes, I am. Close to 10% of the companies we met here were from abroad. Our business partners from Spain, Italy, Germany and UK attend here and we get to meet them as well.
  • Are you thinking of exhibiting at EMITT 2020?
