As the Erdemli Municipality of the Republic of Turkey, we organize the Turkmen Festival every year, which we held for the 32nd time in 2025 and which has become a tradition, with the aim of promoting our district, increasing unity and solidarity, providing morale and motivation to our citizens, and introducing the Yörük Turkmen culture. The Turkmen Festival hosts famous artists, dance and performance groups from the Turkic world and offers Yörük-specific drinks such as sıkma (a type of flatbread), yayık ayran (a type of yogurt drink), and lemonade (due to our district being the lemon capital). Guests are accommodated in traditional Yörük yurts. The yurts are the most important feature of the festival. In addition, civil society organizations, associations, and foundations also set up tents and stands to host guests and introduce themselves. Space is also allocated to local businesses in our district, allowing them to promote themselves.
