In 1965, the old part of the town of Sozopol was declared an architectural and historical reserve. More than eighty houses, built in a characteristic style of the Bulgarian Revival architecture of the 19th century, have been preserved on this territory. The buildings exist as a single, densely built-up settlement formation, separated by narrow cobblestone streets.
