Ankara Metropolitan Municipality organizes promotional tours of the historic city center and districts to showcase the capital’s historical, cultural, and touristic values. These city and district tours aim to promote Ankara’s historical, cultural, and touristic sites, as well as its national and spiritual values, at both national and international levels. Projects have been developed to enhance tourism in the capital. Collaborations with tourism stakeholders, NGOs, universities, foundations, associations, local administrations, and schools have strengthened these initiatives. Strategies have been planned to increase tourism revenues and visitor numbers, extend the length of stay, raise per capita spending, and encourage repeat visits, thereby boosting Ankara’s tourism diversity. Efforts are ongoing in all areas of tourism—including cultural, sports, health, winter, congress and business, thermal, mountaineering, and nature tourism—to position the city as a leading destination. Tourism and promotional publications, supported with detailed information, are also used to reach domestic and international visitors.
